I'm messing about a bit with Photoshop to try and create atmospheric collages of the architectural characters/signifiers in our project, and this is an early draft of the first attempt, focusing on the walled garden.
This is an interesting one, why did you choose cherry blossom trees? I was just discussing the trees with my Mum today and she pointed out that the cherry blossom is in fact fleeting, momentary...perhaps the trees themselves can be viewed as inhabitants of the garden, underlining our conceptual ideas of multiple existences, change and perception.

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the trees as characters too - perhaps they are the manifestation of the stranger, considering that they are not indigenous?
